The evening begins with Onion, a Portland-based quintet performing original music shaped by modern jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeat, rock, Afro-Cuban music, and improvisation. Their sound combines electric textures, rhythmic invention, and melodic interplay, moving from dance-driven grooves to contemplative ballads and spontaneous exploration.
The night continues with Outer Orbit, a joyful Portland-based collective led by keyboardist Galen Clark and vocalist Sarah Clarke. Rooted in original songwriting, collaboration, and feel-good energy, the band blends funk, soul, jazz, and contemporary influences into a performance built to move people and bring the community together.
