Science on Tap began in 2010 as a Weizmann Institute initiative (originally titled “Beer, Science, and Fun”) where scientists presented informal talks in bars and pubs. The format expanded into Tel Aviv and internationally, spawning many local 'Science on Tap' chapters and regularly recorded/streamed talks; it is widely cited as a successful model of public science engagement.
